Abstract
The productivity of an individual is strongly associated with their health and nutritional status. A long-term habit of unbalanced nutrition consumption may affect an individual’s health. One of the interventions that can be done is increasing the knowledge of balanced nutrition through education. The media used in this research are e-booklets and videos. This research aims to understand the difference between balanced nutrition knowledge before and after nutritional education using e-booklets and videos among SMKN 57 Jakarta students, and also to find the difference in the effectiveness of both media. The sampling technic used in this research was random sampling with 95 respondents. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a Wilcoxon test to find the difference in knowledge before and after the intervention and a Mann-Whitney test to find the difference between media effectivity in increasing knowledge. The result shows that both e-booklet (p-value = 0,000) and video (p-value = 0,000) give a significant effect in increasing balanced nutrition knowledge level. The Mann-Whitney test shows no significant difference in the effectivity of both medias (p-value = 0,350). Suggest for the next research is to improve the educational media to help adolescents understand the Balanced Nutrition Guideline better.
