Abstract

Submarines with missile weapons are urgently needed by Indonesia to maintain defense and the vast territorial waters of Indonesia. Submarines must be able to carry a lot of weapons and be able to sail through certain water conditions. Therefore, to develop existing technology, it is necessary to conduct research on existing defense equipment. In the world of shipping, the moment of force on the ship greatly affects the stability of the ship. In this thesis, we will discuss the stability of submarines during missile launches. To prove the stability of the submarine during a missile launch, it will be analyzed using the Maxsurf software. The results of this study show that changes in submarine trim are strongly influenced by the missile's distance to the center of gravity. The smallest change in trim value occurred at the launch of missiles number 5, 6, 7, and 8 with a trim value of -0.359 m. With the Tomahawk missile used on the USS Virginia, the estimated distance can reach mainland Taiwan when launched from Natuna sea.
