Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of profitability, free cash flow, and past dividends on dividend policy in companies listed in the KOMPAS100 index in period 2015-2019. This research is a type of quantitative research that uses secondary data based on company annual reports and company financial statements. Based on the purposive sampling method, the total sample size is 15 companies. The predictive model uses the panel regression with STATA 16.0 program. The measurement for dividend policy use dividend payout ratio, profitability use return on assets measurement, free cash flow is measured by free cash flow to equity holders and past dividend is measured by dividend per sharet_1. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that (1) profitability have no significant effect on dividend policy, (2) free cash flow have no significant effect on dividend policy, and (3) past dividends have no significant effect on dividend policy.
