Abstract

The training ship functions are for a training place, demonstration, simulation at sea, and a class for educational, training, and teaching process to improve knowledge, skill, comprehension, experience, and behavior in the maritime knowledge and technology. The government provides training ship facilities for maritime schools to use it regularly. In fact, they don’t use the training ship regularly, especially since COVID-19, which caused the training ship just anchored around Jakarta Bay. Even though the ship just anchored, it’s still requires operational and docking costs. There is a cost constraint, which caused the training ship was unable to get docking. So therefore, to reduce the cost constraint, this research will researching for optimization of MH. Thamrin training ship operation as a multi-function for passenger. This research uses AutoCAD software and uses technical and economic analysis method. The result of the research is the redesign of Kapal Latih MH. Thamrin at the main deck and bottom deck areas with the most effective evacuation routes is 1st variation, thus it can carry 50 passengers on Tanjung Priok – Tanjung Pandan Belitung cruise line. Then the profit from passenger fare can reduce the cost of ship maintenance and repairs by 73,7%.
