Abstract

Common problems in adolescents can cause problems related to adolescent reproductive health. A number of factors that influence the incidence of vaginal discharge are knowledge, behavior, and access to information on vulvar hygiene. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between knowledge, behavior, and access to information about vulvar hygiene with the incidence of vaginal discharge in adolescent girls. The study design used was a cross sectional test. The statistical test used was Chi-Square with a significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of this study, it was shown that 82.3% of AL-HUDA high school students had vaginal discharge. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.000), behavior (p-value = 0.029), and access to vulvar hygiene information (p-value = 0.034) with the incidence of vaginal discharge. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, behavior, and access to information and it is hoped that young women can understand normal and abnormal vaginal discharge, always take care of the vaginal area, and use access to information in the form of telecommunications equipment and through channels or media regarding reproductive health.
