Abstract

This research aims to find out how parents and children take advantage of interpersonal communication in resolving conflicts and determine the factors that parents encourage their children to marry. The subject in this study was families consisting of parents and children over the age of 19. This study used a qualitative method to dig deeper research, aided by a study of phenomena to see the experiences of parents and children in marriage. The results of this research show that interpersonal communication as conflict resolution between parents and children in marriage uses conflict management strategies that avoid and active fighting strategies also face distracting and face enhancing strategies. The conclusion that can be taken in this study is the importance of resolving conflicts with open communication and improving the sense of sensitivity between parents and children in understanding marriage.
