Abstract

With the application of an automation system, the work of an engineer can be minimized in making hull shape designs and other analyzes. In this research, a water taxi model is used which will modify the shape of the hull and analyze its resistance and stability. This study uses the Automation Blending Hull method with VBA to facilitate model creation and analysis, in which two basic models that have a displacement value approaching and the same number of control points are combined to get a new chine on the hull with a variation ratio of 0; 0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1. From the results of the obstacle analysis, the Savitsky Pre-Planing method has a difference in the value of the resistance of ± 9% and the Savitsky Planing method has a difference in the value of the resistance of ± 5%. While the stability analysis of all chine variations obtained met the IMO requirements, but the value did not have a significant difference.
