Abstract

Virtual property are objects that exist in a cyberspace. The existence of a digital container or cyberspace makes this virtual property as a valuable object. Nowadays, virtual property has become part of human needs in the digital era, which is very dependent on computer technology, including the need for virtual property in online games. Virtual property in online games is include in the category of computer programs that are protected by copyright under the Copyright Law. This regulation does not provide protection for players who have virtual properties in online games. This is because there are no regulation governing virtual ownership. So it is difficult to know the position of player in ownership of virtual property in online games, especially with its nature as virtual virtual property. In this case, it is very important to know the position of publisher and players in the ownership of virtual property in online games to provide legal protection.
