Abstract
HIV-AIDS is an infectious disease that not only harms the human immune system. The biggest contributor to the number of HIV cases in 2018 was dominated in the age group 25-49 years by 153 cases (69.55). Adolescence is a transition from childhood to adulthood. The contribution of family functions is part of the community, this is considered very important to be optimized through the duties of family members. This study uses a probability sampling method with the calculation technique of respondent sampling using stratified random sampling with a number of respondents 215 class X and XI students at SMAN 12 Depok. This research method uses cross sectional with quantitative research using the Chi Square test for univariate and bivariate variables. The results of the bivariate analysis in this study were from the family characteristics p-value> α (0.05) so that no relationship was found between family characteristics with HIV/AIDS prevention behavior in adolescents at SMAN 12 Depok. Whereas the family function variable gets the p-value 0.017<α (0.05) which means that there is a significant relationship between family function and HIV/AIDS prevention behavior in adolescents at SMAN 12 Depok. Therefore the need for more attention from the family for more attention to their children in order to avoid promiscuity in order to improve HIV/AIDS prevention behavior in adolescents.
