Abstract

Open competition in the business world presents a huge challenge and opportunity for Indonesia to seize the market in ASEAN. Indonesia's marine and fisheries industry must be ready to face the Asean Economic Community (AEC). 2/3 of the area of Indonesia which is larger than the mainland is a large asset of Indonesia in dominating the International market tide. For this reason, the government needs to immediately pursue the readiness of the shipping industry related to the AEC plan, particularly with regard to the emphasis on national logistics costs which now still reach 26% of GDP. The role of sea transportation is expected to support the realization of the AEC market and the development of exports and imports of goods. With abundant natural resources Indonesia exports baranke abroad in the form of spices such as cloves, nutmeg, nutmeg, coriander, pepper, candlenut and so on. As for imports of goods in electronic form such as TVs, cellphones, watches and so on. If the increase in exports and imports in Indonesia.
