Abstract
This study aims to analyze cooperation between Indonesia and JICA in resolving waste problems in West Java. Waste is a problem for every country around the world, including is Indonesia. It is caused by the problem of landfill. Indonesia’s waste problem is in the waste management especially in West Java Province. This research is used descriptive methods and qualitative research type. Indonesia cooperates with JICA in dealing with waste problems in West Java. The result is that the waste problem in West Java, especially in the landfill, is still happening. The volume of waste in West Java continues to increase because the population and consumption patterns of the West Java people also increase. In addition, landfill in West Java still has not followed adequate technology. So in resolving the waste problem in West Java, the Government of Indonesia cooperates with JICA with bilateral cooperation. This bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and JICA was carried out in the form of technical cooperation and foreign loans. This collaboration focuses on waste management in West Java, especially in designing landfill development in Legok Nangka and Nambo. The result of this collaboration is that technical cooperation works according to what is being run, while there are some obstacles in foreign loans. This collaboration only lasts for one year. That is because JICA only assisted Indonesia in the design of TPA development in West Java.
