Abstract

The report of Primary Health Care Sawangan Depok in 2018 showed a significant increase in the number of non-communicable diseases (NCD) patients compared to the previous year. However, an examination of total cholesterol to determine the risk of NCD has never been done at Posbindu Kenanga Sawangan, Depok. Community service activities were carried out to members of Posbindu Sawangan, Depok to improve lipid profiles. The activity includes checking total cholesterol and counseling about the importance of cholesterol checks, the causes and consequences of high cholesterol for health, efforts to reduce cholesterol, and local fruits that can reduce cholesterol. Furthermore, participants with high cholesterol (>200mg/dl) were accompanied to make lifestyle and dietary modifications, and to drink papaya fruit juice every day for two weeks. The lifestyle and dietary modifications are written in the diary. Pre and post-tests were done to evaluate the activities. The results of these activities are an increase in knowledge and behavioral changes that have proven to be beneficial for all participants in the form of a significant decrease in total cholesterol levels. It can be concluded that this community service activity has succeeded in improving the participant's lipid profile to prevent the occurrence of NCD
