Abstract
The development of information technology and the increasing use of social media in Indonesia have created new challenges in combating digital radicalism, particularly through Facebook, which has a massive user base and features that facilitate the rapid and widespread dissemination of content. This study aims to analyze law enforcement efforts regarding the dissemination of radical content on Facebook and to examine the obstacles faced by law enforcement officials in taking action against those who disseminate such content. The research method employed is a normative legal study using a legislative approach and a case-based approach through the analysis of the East Jakarta District Court Decision No. 980/Pid.Sus/2020/PN Jkt.Tim. Data was obtained through a literature review of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal sources, and then analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach. The research results indicate that law enforcement has not been optimal due to a lack of harmonization between the Electronic Information and Transactions Law and Law No. 5 of 2018 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism, as well as challenges related to electronic evidence and the identification of perpetrators. Furthermore, law enforcement remains largely repressive and has not yet optimally implemented a preventive approach based on cyber surveillance. This study recommends harmonizing regulations, strengthening digital forensics, and optimizing cyber patrols and digital literacy to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts against radicalism on social media.
