Abstract
This study aims to examine how Generation Z interprets corporate jargon through the parody content of the TikTok account @lutfi_afansyah. The study employs Symbolic Interaction Theory, which views meaning as something constructed through social interaction. Corporate jargon refers to expressions commonly used in workplace communication and has increasingly been represented through parody content on social media. This research adopted a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with five Generation Z informants and one expert informant, supported by secondary data in the form of a transcript from a podcast hosted by Raditya Dika featuring statements from Lutfi Afansyah as the content creator. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with source triangulation and member checking employed to ensure data trustworthiness. The findings indicate that Generation Z interprets corporate jargon as a symbol of professionalism, a marker of professional identity, and a means of maintaining politeness and building rapport in workplace communication. These meanings are shaped through exposure to social media, educational experiences, internships, work experience, and social interactions. Beyond serving as entertainment, the parody content on TikTok @lutfi_afansyah is also interpreted as a medium that helps Generation Z recognize, understand, and interpret the use of corporate jargon in professional communication. Keywords: Corporate Jargon, Generation Z, Symbolic Interaction
