Abstract
Project delays in construction may lead to cost overruns and failure to meet project completion targets. This study aims to compare the forecasting accuracy of Earned Value Management (EVM) and Singularity Functions–Earned Value Management (SF-EVM) in predicting project duration and to determine an appropriate schedule acceleration strategy using the Time-Cost Trade-Off (TCTO) method. The study utilized Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), Actual Cost (AC), and project schedule data from PT XYZ. Forecasting accuracy was evaluated using Absolute Percentage Error (APE), while TCTO was applied to critical path activities through overtime work. The results show that EVM estimated the project duration at 58.14 months with an APE of 4.34%, whereas SF-EVM estimated 50.25 months with an APE of 3.84%, indicating higher forecasting accuracy. Furthermore, the TCTO method reduced project delays by 61 calendar days with an additional cost of Rp288,880,952.32 or 0.058% of the total project cost. The integration of SF-EVM and TCTO provides a more accurate project schedule control approach and an effective schedule acceleration strategy.
