Abstract

Background: Dengue fever cases continue to rise significantly in Indonesia and have become a public health issue. Objective: This study aims to determine the correlation between climate change and population density on dengue fever cases, furthermore to map the distribution of dengue fever cases and population density in Bandung City from 2015–2025. Methods: This study employed spatially-based ecological study with 30 subdistricts as the unit of analysis, analyzed trends in climate factors and dengue fever cases over 132 months (total of months 2015—2025). Secondary data were obtained from the Health Department and the BPS Bandung City. Spatial analysis was conducted using the QGIS and bivariate analysis was performed using correlation tests. Results: The results showed the Sumur Bandung subdistrict had the highest number of cases (469 cases). The mapping revealed a concentration of cases in the western and southern regions of Bandung City. There were significant strong to very strong correlations, specifically in 2019 with the variable of rainy days (r = 0.905), humidity (r = 0.657), and minimum air temperature (r = 0.614). Conclusion: The researchers recommend developing early warning system for dengue fever by regularly integrating cross-sectoral data (Dinkes, BMKG, BPS).
