Abstract
This study aims to analyze the liquidity and profitability levels in evaluating the financial performance of PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat dan Banten Tbk (Bank BJB) during the 2021–2025 period. The study employed a quantitative descriptive research method using a financial ratio analysis approach. The data used were secondary data obtained from Bank BJB's annual financial statements for the period of 2021–2025. The analysis was conducted by calculating liquidity ratios, onsisting of the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) and Cash Ratio, as well as profitability ratios, including Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO). The results were then compared with the applicable financial performance standards and analyzed using trend analysis to evaluate the development of the bank's financial performance over the study period. The results indicate that Bank BJB maintained a healthy liquidity position throughout the 2021-2025 period. The Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) increased from 81.7% in 2021 to 89.5% in 2024 before slightly declining to 88.1% in 2025, remaining within the healthy range established by the financial regulator. Meanwhile, the Cash Ratio fluctuated between 8.76% and 13.48%, demonstrating the bank's adequate ability to meet its short-term obligations. In contrast, the profitability ratios exhibited a consistent downward trend. Return on Assets (ROA) declined from 1.4% to 0.6%, Return on Equity (ROE) decreased from 15.8% to 6.2%, and Net Interest Margin (NIM) fell from 5.8% to 3.8%. At the same time, the BOPO ratio increased from 81.9% to 92.2%, indicating a decline in the bank's operational efficiency.
