Abstract
This research examines the influence of crime rates, minimum wages, average years of schooling, and life expectancy on foreign direct investment (FDI) across six Indonesian provinces from 2010 to 2023. The investigation utilizes secondary panel datasets sourced from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The applied approach is panel regression analysis. The findings indicate that the crime rate exerts a significant adverse influence on FDI, the minimum wage demonstrates a significant negative contribution to FDI, the average length of schooling presents an adverse but statistically insignificant association with FDI, whereas the life expectancy provides a significant positive contribution to FDI. These findings indicate that security conditions, labor costs, and public health quality are important determinants in attracting foreign investment at the provincial level. Meanwhile, improvements in average years of schooling have not become a major factor influencing foreign investment inflows significantly. Therefore, policies that support a conducive investment climate through enhanced security, competitive wage policies, and improved public health quality are needed.
