Abstract
Human development in Indonesia continues to face regional disparities, with the western region, particularly Java Island, achieving higher development levels than other regions. This study aims to analyze the effects of the number of schools, community health center ratio, hospital ratio, and Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in the five provinces with the lowest HDI in Indonesia, namely West Kalimantan, West Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, Papua, and West Papua. Although HDI in these provinces has generally increased, disparities between HDI progress and educational, health, and employment indicators remain evident. This study employs panel data analysis using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) for the 2014–2024 period with EViews 13. The results indicate that the hospital ratio has a positive and significant effect on HDI, while the community health center ratio has a negative and significant effect. Meanwhile, the number of schools and LFPR have no significant partial effect. However, all variables jointly have a significant effect on HDI.
