Abstract
This study aims to analyze and compare the financial performance of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) based on financing products and financial ratios for the year 2024. This study is motivated by the differences in the operational systems of Islamic banks and conventional banks, which affect financing structures, risk levels, and profit-generating capabilities. This analysis employs a quantitative descriptive approach using a case study method. The data used consists of secondary data obtained from the 2024 annual financial reports and official publications of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Financial performance was evaluated using liquidity ratios (FDR/LDR), solvency (CAR), profitability (ROA), and credit risk (NPF/NPL). The results indicate that BSI holds an advantage in financing risk management, evidenced by a lower NPF rate, supported by the dominance of relatively stable murabahah financing. Meanwhile, BRI excels in terms of profitability and capital adequacy, as reflected in higher ROA and CAR values. Thus, the two banks have distinct strengths based on their respective business models: BSI excels at maintaining the quality of its loans, while BRI excels at generating profits and strengthening its capital structure.
