Abstract
Liposuction is a plastic surgery procedure to remove a fat tissue from the subcutaneous layer of the skin. The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 regulates that the procedure is under the authority and competence of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery specialists, as well as dermatology and venereology specialists. Liposuction must also be performed in health facilities that meet the requirements regulated in the Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) Number 11 of 2025, specifically hospitals or main clinics (klinik utama); however, liposuction is frequently found to be performed in clinics that do not meet requirements and by unauthorized or incompetent doctors, as observed in the case of a patient's death due to liposuction in Depok City in 2024. This research was conducted to examine the liability of the clinic, the doctor, and the patient using normative juridical analysis, with The Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 17 of 2023 as the primary legal source. The results is showing that both clinic and doctor can be held accountable under criminal, civil, and administravitely
