Abstract

The Indonesian automotive industry's shift from conventional fuels to electric vehicles is indicative of growing environmental consciousness and a change in consumer preferences for eco-friendly goods. But there are still problems with the psychological and sociological elements that particularly affect Muslim consumers' intents to make green purchases, particularly when it comes to BYD electric vehicles in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to identify the variables that affect Muslim customers' aspirations to purchase environmentally friendly electric vehicles from BYD Indonesia. 160 respondents are used to determine the number of samples in this quantitative study using a probability sampling methodology called simple random sampling. To examine the validity, reliability, and connections between variables, PLS-SEM was used in the analysis using SmartPLS 4. The results showed that all independent variables had a positive and significant effect on green purchasing intention. Subjective norms were the most influential variable, indicating that social incentives, such as family or community recommendations, significantly influence Muslim consumers' decisions to consider electric vehicles. Religiosity and green price awareness were also shown to strengthen perceptions of benefits and sustainability, while attitudes contributed positively through shaping assessments of the superiority of environmentally friendly products. These results emphasize the importance of marketing strategies that incorporate education, sustainability values, and strengthening social influence in determining electric car purchasing intention among Muslim consumers.
