Abstract

The prevalence of Musculoskeletal disorders among nurses is relatively high, primarily due to non-ergonomic working postures such as bending, lifting patients, and prolonged static positions. These conditions negatively impact work comfort, productivity, and the quality of nursing care. One intervention to reduce the risk of such disorders is ergonomic training. This study aims to evaluate the effect of ergonomic training on musculoskeletal complaints and risk among nurses. The intervention was conducted with six nurses in the inpatient ward using a participatory training approach. The training included education on Musculoskeletal disorders and proper working posture, along with its application in daily nursing activities. Evaluation was carried out using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) before and after the training. The pre-test and post-test results showed a decrease in musculoskeletal disorder risk scores ranging from 0.93 to 1.36 points. These results indicate that ergonomic training is an effective preventive strategy to improve awareness of proper posture and reduce the risk of Musculoskeletal disorders among nurses. Continuous implementation of ergonomic training is recommended as part of occupational health promotion in hospital settings
