Abstract
Anxiety in pregnant women in their third trimester remains a common health problem that can affect the well-being of both mother and fetus. The third trimester is the final phase of pregnancy, marked by various physical and psychological changes, one of which is increased anxiety prior to delivery. Anxiety that is not properly managed has the potential to affect the physical and psychological condition of pregnant women and the smoothness of the delivery process. A preliminary study in the Cikembar Community Health Center working area showed that most pregnant women in their third trimester experienced moderate to high anxiety prior to childbirth. This condition indicates the need for safe and effective interventions, especially through non-pharmacological approaches. One intervention that can be used is the Alexander Technique, which emphasizes increased body awareness, improved posture, muscle tension control, and relaxation. This study aims to determine the effect of the Alexander Technique on anxiety levels in pregnant women in their third trimester. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The study sample consisted of 30 pregnant women in their third trimester who were selected using total sampling. Anxiety levels were measured using the Perinatal Anxiety Screening Scale (PASS) before and after the intervention. Data analysis was performed using bivariate statistical tests. The results showed a decrease in anxiety levels.
