Abstract
Background: Sleep is a fundamental biological necessity for bodily recovery, where quality is determined by both duration and depth. Optimal sleep supports physiological health, while poor sleep quality is linked to impaired concentration, metabolic issues, and cardiovascular risks. Factors such as physical activity and stress significantly impact sleep, especially among students facing high academic demands. Objective: This study examines the relationship between physical activity, stress levels, and sleep quality in undergraduate physiotherapy students at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta. Method: An observational cross-sectional study was conducted with 154 students from the Faculty of Health Sciences, UPNVJ, between November and December 2025. Data collection utilized the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Results: Spearman correlation analysis indicated that physical activity had no significant association with sleep quality (p = 0.468) or stress (p = 0.173). Conversely, a significant statistical relationship was found between stress and sleep quality (p < 0.001). Conclusion: While physical activity does not show a significant link to stress or sleep quality, stress remains a major factor significantly associated with sleep quality among students.
