Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effects of interest rates, inflation, World Governance Indicators (WGI), and Initial Public Offering (IPO) activities on the Indonesia Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The study employs monthly data from January 2018 to December 2024 and applies a multiple linear regression method with logarithmic transformation for selected variables. The IHSG is used as the dependent variable, while the independent variables include the SBI interest rate, inflation, WGI, and an IPO dummy variable. The results of the simultaneous test (F-test) indicate that all independent variables jointly have a significant effect on the IHSG, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.792, meaning that 79.2% of the variation in the IHSG can be explained by the research model. Partially, the results of the t-test show that interest rates have a negative and significant effect on the IHSG, while WGI has a positive and significant effect. In contrast, inflation and IPO activity do not have a significant effect on the IHSG. These findings indicate that monetary stability and the quality of governance are the dominant factors influencing the movement of the IHSG during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Meanwhile, relatively controlled inflation and firm-specific IPO activities do not have a significant impact on the aggregate market index. This study is expected to provide valuable insights for policymakers and investors in understanding the key determinants of Indonesia’s stock market performance.
