Abstract

Exports are becoming increasingly important with the advancement of globalization because they are one of the many factors driving a country's economy. A country can gain an advantage in international trade by specializing in products, exporting commodities that can be produced relatively more productively, and importing goods that are produced relatively less or less productively. This study aims to analyze the influence of tobacco production, GDP, the exchange rate, and international tobacco prices on Indonesia's tobacco export volume from 1991 to 2021. The data used for this study is secondary data for an annual period, totaling 31 observations, obtained from the Directorate General of Plantations, the World Bank, and the Central Statistics Agency. This study uses a time series method using the ECM (Error Correction Model) data processing method to examine the longterm and short-term effects of each variable. This study found that tobacco production, GDP, and international prices had no significant effect. While the exchange rate variable had a significant effect in the long-term period, it was insignificant in the short-term period. Simultaneously, all variables had no significant effect on tobacco export volume, either in the short-term or the long term
