Abstract
Online gambling at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta has grown into a serious issue, violating laws and disrupting students multidimensional development. This activity directly impacts students' financial stability, academic performance, mental health, and social relationships. Therefore, structured and systematic intervention from the university is necessary. This study focuses on two main discussions: (1) preventive strategies the campus can implement, and (2) the multiple layers of harm experienced by students involved in online gambling. Legally, gambling is prohibited under Article 303 of the Indonesian Criminal Code and Article 27 paragraph (2) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, providing a strong basis for the university to apply guidance and disciplinary measures. However, effective prevention cannot rely solely on repressive legal approaches. The university needs to design and implement a comprehensive set of long-term measures, including legal and digital literacy education, psychological counseling, anonymous reporting systems, campus network monitoring, and strategic collaboration with Kominfo, LLDIKTI, and law enforcement agencies. The research findings reveal that students entangled in online gambling experience a complex spectrum of losses. Financial losses often manifest as the depletion of savings, misuse of tuition funds, and entrapment in illegal online loans. Academically, students suffer from declining grades, difficulty concentrating, and increased absenteeism. Socially and psychologically, they face mental pressure, shame, loss of family trust, and withdrawal from healthy social environments. Overall, these findings indicate that online gambling on campus is not merely an individual mistake but a systemic threat requiring continuous preventive strategies to protect students from broader and deeper consequences.
