Abstract
Child labor is an important issue in Indonesia's socioeconomic development. Variations in socioeconomic conditions between provinces mean that the phenomenon of child labor remains a national challenge. This study aims to analyze the influence of poverty, working heads of households, and school participation rates on child labor in 34 provinces in Indonesia during the period 2018–2024. The method used is dynamic panel data regression with the System Generalized Method of Moments (Sys-GMM) approach using Stata 17, which was chosen to overcome potential endogeneity and intertemporal variable dynamics. The results show that the poor population has a positive and significant effect on child labor, working heads of households have a negative but insignificant effect, while school enrollment rates have a negative and significant effect. These findings emphasize the need to strengthen poverty alleviation policies and improve access to education in efforts to reduce child labor in Indonesia.
