Abstract
Economic growth provides an overview of a country’s development direction and how its economic activities change over time. This study was conducted to analyze the impact of the number of MSMEs, MSME credit, Investment, and the Industrial Production Index in Indonesia. This study tested these variabels in the log and short term using the Error Correction Model (ECM) test. The data sample was used annually with an observation period from 2008 to 2023. The results show that the number of MSMEs has significant effect in the short term, but not in the long term. This indicates that MSME activities are able to drive rapid economic turnover, but the increase in the number of businesses has not been followed by a sustainable increase in productivity. MSME Credit has a significant effect in the long term, but not in the sort term, reflecting that unproductive use of credit and increased financing costs can suppress business performance in the long term. Investment appears to have no significant effect in either the short or long term, indicating constraints in the realization and allocation of investment to productive sectors. Meanwhile, the Industrial Production Index has a significant impact in the long term, confirming the role of the industrial sector as the main drive of economic growth, while in the short term its impact is not significant due to the time lag in the production and distribution processes.
