Abstract
The prevalence of executive function deficit among children in Indonesia, particularly associated with ADHD, was reported at 8.9% in 2023. Executive function encompasses cognitive skills that allow individuals to plan, organize, and regulate mental processes. This study aimed to evaluate executive function in children prior to neurofeedback intervention by experimental design was employed, with a control group. A quantitative pre-post experimental design was employed, with data collected directly from SD Negeri Krukut 3. Participants were assigned to either the intervention or control group. Neurofeedback intervention consisted of 10 sessions, each lasting 30 minutes, conducted twice weekly. Executive function was assessed at the Fz site before and after the intervention. Paired t-test and independent t-test revealed no statistically significant differences (p > 0.05). However, the intervention group showed a greater reduction in mean P300 amplitude at Fz compared to the control group, suggesting that neurofeedback may accelerate and enhance the efficiency of brain stimulus processing, thereby supporting improvements in executive function. These findings indicate that neurofeedback may serve as an effective non-pharmacological strategy to enhance cognitive regulation, particularly executive function in children.
