Abstract
Floods are one of the most frequent natural disasters in Indonesia, causing significant impacts on communities. Household heads play a strategic role in decision-making, including disaster mitigation and preparedness efforts. Adequate knowledge and accurate risk perception are essential in shaping effective preparedness. Without proper intervention, low knowledge and poor risk perception may lead to insufficient responses to flood threats, thereby increasing vulnerability to physical and social losses. This study aims to examine the association among knowledge, disaster risk perception, and flood preparedness among household heads in Katulampa, Bogor. The research design was observational analytic using a cross-sectional method with total sampling to determine respondents. Data were collected using structured questionnaires that assessed knowledge, risk perception, and flood preparedness. The results showed a significant association between knowledge and preparedness (r = 0.477; p < 0.05) as well as between risk perception and preparedness (r = 0.405; p < 0.05). This study highlights the importance of strengthening disaster education and raising awareness among upstream communities to enhance resilience against flood hazards.
