Abstract

Objective : To determine the relationship between smoking habits and sperm morphology and total spermatozoa count among male patients undergoing semen analysis at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, Jakarta. Methods : An analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design using total sampling of 70 male patients’ medical records from November 2024 to October 2025. Secondary data included age, smoking habits, sperm morphology, and total sperm count. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square and Fisher’s Exact tests. Results : No significant association was found between smoking and sperm morphology (p = 0.669) or between smoking and total sperm count (p = 0.345). Conslusion : Smoking habits were not significantly correlated with sperm morphology or total spermatozoa count. Within the limitations of this study, smoking could not be confirmed as a determinant of semen quality. References : 45 (2021-2025) Keywords : Smoking; Sperm Morphology; Total Sperm Count
