Abstract

Economic growth is very important for a region, because it illustrates the welfare of the community and the economic conditions in the region. Regions that have a strong economic growth rate can create jobs, income equality, and a good standard of living. However, economic growth in a region often results in welfare inequality. Like the province of North Sumatera, which is one of the regions with a large contribution to economic growth in Indonesia, but still has underdeveloped regions. because the less optimal management of existing resources causes low economic growth rates. This study aims to determine the effect of minimum wage, local revenue, open unemployment rate in North Sumatera province during the period 2015-2024 in 33 districts/cities. This research methodology uses panel data regression analysis with the Fixed Effect model, then the research results show that the minimum wage variable and the open unemployment rate have a significant negative effect, while local revenue has a significant positive effect.
