Abstract
Economic growth is something that every country strives for in order to improve welfare and prosperity. To create a safe environment for economic growth, important factors such as political stability are needed, especially in developing countries. This is because stability itself reflects the strength of a country in carrying out its political and economic activities. The relationship between democracy and political stability is an interesting topic for further study. Therefore, the objective of this study is to determine the influence of political stability, proxied by three variables Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism index, Fragile States Index, and Global Peace index on economic growth in 18 developing countries at the flawed democracy level from 2010 to 2022. The analytical technique used is dynamic panel data with the System Generalized Method of Moments (SYS-GMM) approach. The results of this study indicate that the Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism index variable has a positive and significant effect on economic growth, the Fragile States Index variable has an insignificant effect on economic growth, and the Global Peace Index variable has an insignificant effect on economic growth.
