Abstract

Students are currently required to carry out apprenticeships as a standard of the learning process. As mandated in the legislation, apprenticeship is an important component in ensuring students have met the competency standards of university graduates. One of them is the participation of students as apprentices in the MSIB program. However, to date, regulations on academic apprenticeships still do not fully accommodate the legal protection, position, rights, and welfare of students as participants. This research is a normative legal research using legislative approach and comparative approach. Based on this, this research focuses on analyzing legal instruments and comparing academic apprenticeships in other countries. The results of this study show that the regulations governing academic apprenticeship still do not accommodate legal certainty as a whole, as a result violation cases still often occur. The government, which has the authority in organizing academic apprenticeships, is certainly responsible for fixing this problem.
