Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (IDIC) in encouraging public interest in saving within the banking sector. The background of this research is based on the importance of public trust in the financial system, particularly in the context of deposit protection. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving individuals who are directly or indirectly familiar with the topic. The analysis was conducted descriptively, focusing on how respondents perceive the existence and function of IDIC. The findings reveal that IDIC's presence contributes to a sense of security among the public, especially in light of potential risks such as bank failures. However, the research also shows that public understanding of the institution's role and operational mechanisms remains limited. Although efforts have been made through social media and public outreach, the coverage is not yet comprehensive. This study concludes that IDIC plays a positive role in strengthening public confidence and increasing saving behavior, though broader and more adaptive communication strategies are needed to maximize its impact.
