High unemployment in Indonesia has prompted many to seek work abroad, making it the largest exporter of migrant workers in Southeast Asia. The low availability of jobs in the country has encouraged Indonesians to seek employment abroad. The case in Solomon Islands in 2022 shows the vulnerability of Indonesian Migrant Workers to exploitation, including wage problems. The government established BP2MI to ensure the protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, which is the responsibility of the government and related institutions. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the work agreement approved by the Indonesian Embassy Port Moresby can protect Indonesian Migrant Workers who experience default and understand what is done by BP2MI to help Indonesian Migrant Workers who experience default in Solomon Island.
