Abstract
Education assistance is an important form of humanitarian assistance in situations of armed conflict, including in Palestine. The National Committee for the Palestinian People (KNRP) as a non-governmental organization (NGO) from Indonesia has been actively distributing educational assistance to Palestine since before until after the escalation of the major conflict on October 7, 2023. This study discusses changes in the KNRP's approach to distributing educational assistance in response to increasing security risks, severe damage to educational infrastructure, and communication barriers with local partners in Gaza. This research uses the concept of NGOs and humanitarian assistance with qualitative methods and data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The results show that KNRP shifts the focus of distribution from physical assistance and medium-term assistance to informal educational support such as the Indonesian Emergency School, short-term assistance, prioritizing psychosocial assistance, and accelerating response through real-time coordination with local partners without relying on fixed plans or lengthy bureaucratic pathways. These findings show that the KNRP carries out the role of NGOs in responding to humanitarian crises, with high flexibility and based on local needs.
