Abstract

Advances in information technology have significantly impacted administrative processes at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta, particularly in managing thesis defense schedules, which are still handled manually. The conventional system causes delays, recording errors, late information delivery, and data duplication. Students and lecturers must visit the campus to obtain schedule information, leading to confusion when sudden changes occur. This study aims to design a web-based thesis defense scheduling information system using the Waterfall method for internal users: students, administrative staff, and examiners. The system facilitates planning, scheduling, and real-time announcement of schedules, making the process more efficient, accurate, and transparent. The Waterfall approach ensures a structured development from requirements analysis to maintenance, minimizing changes and keeping the project on track. The system is expected to ease information access, speed up administration, and improve data accuracy and integration, supporting digitalization and enhancing academic service quality at the faculty.
