Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is an infectious disease that, if not treated promptly, can develop into an outbreak and lead to death. This study aimed to identify factors associated with DHF incidence in Indonesia using data from the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey. A cross-sectional study design with secondary data analysis was used. Multivariate analysis was conducted using multiple logistic regression. The national prevalence of DHF was 0.64% (95% CI: 0.6%-0.7%), with the highest in Central Papua (3.90%) and the highest number of cases in West Java (1,218). Factors associated with DHF included age (aPOR=1.205; 95% CI: 1.137-1.278), education (aPOR=0.905; 95% CI: 0.848-0.965), occupation (aPOR=0.886; 95% CI: 0.831-0.944), residence (aPOR=1.205; 95% CI: 1.137-1.278), housing density (aPOR=1.164; 95% CI: 1.069-1.268), wastewater disposal (aPOR=0.706; 95% CI: 0.661-0.754), garbage bins (aPOR=0.793; 95% CI: 0.747-0.841), ventilation (aPOR=0.749; 95% CI: 0.702-0.798), larvicide use (aPOR=0.872; 95% CI: 0.806-0.943), water container cleaning (aPOR=1.174; 95% CI: 1.110-1.242), disposal of used goods (aPOR=0.889; 95% CI: 0.842-0.938), repellents (aPOR=0.737; 95% CI: 0.692-0.786), and mosquito insecticides (aPOR=0.915; 95% CI: 0.867-0.965). The most dominant factor was urban residence. Preventive efforts should prioritize environmental management and urban community education.
