Abstract

The lack of public health education in Indonesia remains a significant challenge, especially in preventing issues such as stunting and low awareness of medical information. This study develops an AI-based medical chatbot using the Mistral-7B model and a prompt engineering approach to provide interactive recommendations and health education to the public. The chatbot system is designed to understand and respond to medical queries using references from scientific journals and online medical databases (Public Medical API). The implementation process involves data preprocessing, prompt creation, chatbot response evaluation using the Likert scale and Chatbot Usability Questionnaire (CUQ), and system integration via API. Evaluation results involving medical students and doctors indicate that the chatbot delivers relevant, informative, and easy-to-understand answers for non-medical users. This research demonstrates that the Mistral-7B model holds strong potential to support efficient, scalable, and adaptive health education technology in Indonesia.
