Abstract
Diaper rash is one of the most common skin integrity problems in infants in the buttocks and pubic area caused by the use of diapers that are too long and can cause irritation to the baby's sensitive skin. Petroleum jelly is one of the treatments in the management of diaper rash. Petroleum jelly is a mixture of hydrocarbons derived from refined petroleum that serves as the base for various topical creams that effectively treat skin conditions. This innovation intervention analysis was conducted to analyze the effectiveness of using petroleum jelly in treating infants with skin integrity problems in the form of diaper rash in the NICU room of a hospital in Jakarta. The implementation was carried out by applying petroleum jelly to the baby's skin area affected by diaper rash twice a day for 5 days. The results of the implementation showed a decrease in the degree of diaper rash from moderate (score 2.0) to mild (score 1.0).
