Abstract

The rapid development of technology has supported various academic activities at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ), but it has also increased the risks to the security and availability of information systems. The Academic Support Unit for Information and Communication Technology (UPA TIK) is responsible for managing the campus's information technology infrastructure, but currently lacks policy documents that regulate the recovery process in the event of a disaster. This study aims to analyze the readiness of IS/IT UPNVJ in facing disasters using the NIST SP 800-34 framework and provide recommendations for the development of a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). Based on the analysis, the disaster risks faced by UPA TIK include threats from natural disasters, non-natural disasters, and cyber attacks that can disrupt operations and data access. Several identified disasters include cyber attacks, earthquakes, floods, fires, network outages, blackouts, hardware failures, and software failures. The application of the NIST SP 800-34 framework can potentially assist in developing an effective DRP at UPA TIK UPNVJ. The implementation of the provided recommendations to enhance the readiness and resilience of UPNVJ's information systems to face potential disruptions, ensuring that academic services can continue smoothly without being affected by disasters.
