Abstract
Background: Schizophrenia is one of the most severe mental disorders experienced by the world's population and Indonesia. This mental disorder causes changes in individual abilities with various symptoms shown, one of which is sensory perception disorders: hallucinations. The impact if hallucinations are not treated for patients, hallucinations can interfere with the patient's emotions and risk triggering dangerous actions, for families it can increase physical, mental, and economic burdens, while for the environment it can cause damage and endanger others. Nurses have an important role in dealing with these symptoms through the nursing care provided. Objective: To identify in depth nursing care for Ms. P with sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations in Edelweis Room 2, Duren Sawit Regional Hospital. Method: This paper uses a descriptive design with a case study method. Results: The study found that the predisposing factors in the patient were that the patient had a history of mental disorders in 2018, non-compliance in taking medication for approximately 1 year, and an unpleasant experience during high school, namely feeling shunned and ostracized by his classmates. In addition, the precipitating factor found was the relapse factor caused by not taking medication regularly. Three nursing diagnoses were successfully established, including sensory perception disorders: hallucinations, risk of violent behavior and social isolation. Conclusion: The results of the implementation and evaluation of implementation strategies 1-4 given to Ms. P have succeeded in reducing the signs and symptoms that occur in patients with sensory perception disorders: auditory hallucinations. Nurses can use an approach using the focusing technique in interacting as well as a therapeutic approach in the form of repeated training on patient coping skills, strengthening adaptive behavior, and providing consistent motivation.
