Abstract
Erosive wear often occurs in the iron and steel making process. When iron ore and coke are fed, they fall through the revolving chute into the blast furnace. The falling iron ore and coke will continue to hit the wall of the revolving chute. The impact that occurs on the surface of the revolving chute causes wear and tear due to the continuous impact of iron ore and coke which makes severe damage to the wall surface. For this reason, the novelty of this study aims to analyse the erosive wear resistance characteristics of CrMnFeCoNi high entropy alloy with steel material as a test comparison material, namely martensitic stainless steel at impact angles of 30°, 60°, and 90°. Testing specimen dimensions were 50 mm x 50 mm x 10 mm and particles were 10 mm in diameter with a particle velocity of 20 ms. The analysis results were verified from the viewpoint of equivalent plastic stress and strain. Based on the LS-DYNA analysis, it shows that the erosion rate at the impact angle of 60° is lower in the high entropy alloy material. Therefore, by concentrating on the plastic deformation of the material surface, it is possible to ascertain the erosive wear rate against the impact angle through the analysis of finite element method with LS-DYNA.
