Abstract
Domestic workers (PRT) play a crucial role in supporting family welfare and the economy, yet their rights are often overlooked. In the context of working hours, wages, and violence, the fulfillment of domestic workers' rights has become an urgent issue to address. This study aims to analyze these issues, identify the challenges faced by domestic workers, and explore the necessary steps to achieve better protection. The research was conducted using a normative approach, along with interviews with informants from JALA PRT. The results indicate that despite existing labor regulations, such as Law No. 13/2003 and Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 2 of 2015, the legal framework for domestic workers in Indonesia still faces significant challenges. The lack of recognition as formal workers leads to the neglect of domestic workers' normative rights, such as fair wages, humane working hours, and protection from violence. Furthermore, the lack of supervision over the implementation of employment agreements and the failure to pass the Domestic Workers Protection Bill (RUU PPRT) pose major obstacles. This study advocates for clearer regulations and stronger legal protection for domestic workers, in line with applicable national and international legal standards. By understanding these conditions, it is hoped that this research will contribute significantly to the protection of human rights and the improvement of domestic workers' welfare in Indonesia.
