Abstract
Motorbikes are the most widely used means of transportation by the public. Motorcycles that are operated will eventually experience a decrease in the quality or strength of all their components, one of which is the frame. Damage that occurs to the frame is caused by fatigue of the frame material under repeated large loads. Therefore, using fatigue analisis to estimate the risk of damage caused by repeated loads, especially on the rear shock mount, is important to ensure the overall safety and performance of the motorbike. The aim of this research is to determine the shape of the S-N curve which describes the relationship between fatigue strength and the number of loading cycles and how much optimal load the motorbike frame can withstand until it reaches the safety limit. The research method used was to carry out tests in the form of fatigue simulations of rear shock mounts on motorbike frames made of AISI 4130 steel using Solidworks software and then simulated using Ansys workbench software. The results of this research show the relationship between fatigue strength and the number of loading cycles through a curve and illustrate the optimal load that the motorbike frame can withstand.
