Abstract
This study aims to examine the enforcement of criminal law regulations in response to the increasing trend of gambling crimes within the framework of existing legal provisions. The research seeks to identify an effective legal reform to address gambling offenses, ensuring that the law serves as the primary pillar in combating all contributing factors to gambling-related crimes. The study employs a normative juridical method, focusing on the analysis of applicable laws to understand how written law is implemented in handling gambling cases. It adopts a statutory approach, concentrating on the study of legal regulations governing gambling in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the current criminal law provisions related to gambling are insufficient to address the evolving trends and contributing factors of gambling activities. Therefore, this research highlights the need for a contemporary analysis to evaluate the alignment between legal regulations and emerging trends in gambling crimes to effectively address this issue.
