Abstract

This research aims to design and build a biomass waste chopping machine as raw material for making biopellets. Biomass waste, such as leaves and twigs, is organic waste that can cause environmental problems if not managed properly. Therefore, technology is needed to process this waste into alternative energy sources. The biomass waste chopping machine designed aims to increase efficiency in the process of processing waste in the form of wood leaves and twigs into biopellet raw materials. The method for making this chopping machine begins with data collection, design, manufacturing processes, and is completed with testing and formulating results. The research results show that this chopping machine is capable of chopping biomass waste with a capacity of 17.89 grams per minute and producing chops with an average size. 2mm. The total costs required to make this machine are IDR 900,000. This machine is expected to help process biomass waste effectively, reduce environmental pollution, and contribute to the development of renewable energy through biopellets.
